Held on to it long enough, What does that mean? If you are diving after a ball for it to be a catch, I have always thought that you had to have control over it after you hit the ground. That's the way I have always seen it called. For example; If fielder is laid out or jumps for a ball and catches it but is in the air for a second or two and as she hits the ground it comes out that's a catch? Not to me it isn't.

#3 If the fans are tring to coach the kids from the stands then that IMHO is a bigger problemthan yelling at the Ump, Coaches, and mabye even kids I think that if that was the case the Coeburn coach may need to take action to keep vocal fans from undermining his coaching </div></div>

That means that she did not dive. She was on the run caught the ball, had control, her momentium took her to the ground, the ball came out.

Actually they won by 2 runs, not points because we are talking about softball.

Sounds like you know this ump by his first name and what was the haha for?</div></div>

I don't know the Ump at all. I asked someone and they said his name was Jeter. The haha didn't mean a thing. You are trying to make something out of nothing here.

    Re: softball score

Wow this was a fun thread to read, it kinda made me sad that I wasn't at this game. But I see Coeburn being really good for the next few years.

    Re: softball score

I'll throw in a little of my .02. I attempted to help coach Coeburn's 6th and 7th grade girls one year, big mistake. The girls were great, but it was the parents that gave me fits. They would call my house continually every night to complain about other girls and their moms/dads... it got beyond ridiculous. They were upset b/c I made the girls run too much at practice; I eventually just had closed practices. Then comes tournament time at PV instead of my parent's yelling and cheering on their girls they attack me b/c Susie Q didn't get enough playing time so we're going to take her to the house. At the end of the game I had a parent get up in my face and tell me the only reason her daughter even liked me was b/c she told her to suck up to me so she could get more playing time... REAL CLASSY!! I eventually quit, I apologized to the girls but it wasn't worth my sanity to coach anymore. I was 18 at the time and I really felt like I acted more maturely than most of the parents. Like with anything though it wasn't all the parents just a few specific girls' parents. You know who suffers the most though? the girls b/c their the ones thrown in the middle and are the ones who get to be embarrassed b/c their parents won't realize their are a lot more important things than worrying about little league sports like teaching your kids respect and how to lose with grace.

    Re: softball score

I am sure all coaches can say about the same things you are saying..Goes on all the time..It is win, win, win. And 99% of all coaches want to win or they would not be coach. And Christy, the girls did like you and you quit on them..Sad. but you were only 18. A good coach can handle parents and Coeburn should not put something like that on a 18 year olds shoulders..No wonder they don't have any athletics there..Everyone gives up on them. They start and quit..And it is not all the parents either...We need STRONG and stern coaches...Not ones that let one or two tell them what to do.

They may have liked her, but I wouldn't put up with someone getting in my face and making threats because another player is better than their daughter.

And their is no reason for you to mention names on a message board, the maturity level of some of you parents amazes me. In case you didn't notice she didn't use names. GROW UP!! Think of your kids, their probably made fun of because of you.

And another thing. Parents such as yourself are the ones who put so much pressure on children to win in little league. Your the ones who make it so hard to coach. Little League is for learning fundamentals not winnings championships.

Why don't you coach since you care so much?
